A Milestone Event: The 1st Scientific Symposium by the Greek Research Alliance for the Study of Headache and Pain

The 1st Scientific Symposium organized by the Greek Research Alliance for the Study of Headache and Pain (GRASP), titled “New Horizons in Migraine and Headaches. Meet the Experts!”, concluded with resounding success on April 17-18, 2026, at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens. This event was undoubtedly the most successful gathering in Athens focused exclusively on migraine in at least the last five years, attracting approximately 120 on-site delegates and about 500 online attendees.

The impeccable organization by GRASP, held under the auspices of the Hellenic Headache and Migraine Patient Association, set new standards, characterized by flawless execution and a high scientific caliber.

A major highlight of the symposium was the exceptional presentation by Culture Architect Mr. Giannis Kalogerakis on the essence of therapeutic cooperation and relationships, which captured the undivided interest of the delegates. The scientific program was enriched by the participation of the most distinguished and specialized Greek neurologists in the field of migraine, who served as speakers, session chairs, and commentators. Specifically, the event featured: Emmanouil Dermitzakis, Andreas Argyriou, Michalis Vikelis, Eleni Mavraki, Konstantinos Notas, Georgia Xiromerisiou, Jim Rallis, Dimitris Rikos, Panagiotis Soldatos, Christos Tsironis, Aikaterini Foska, Maria Chondrogianni, Vanessa Gourbali, Nikos Dimitsianos, Emmanouil Giakoumakis, Odysseas Pazionis, Maria Koutsokera, and Evangelia Dimitriadou. Through their presentations and constructive dialogue, these expert neurologists highlighted the rapid advancements in migraine treatment.

Furthermore, one of the most successful segments was the specialized “hands-on” workshop on the use of Botox and occipital nerve blocks for migraine, conducted by D. Rikos, Chr. Tsironis, and P. Soldatos. This practical session was a resounding success, offering participants the opportunity to apply modern techniques in practice, significantly enhancing the experience of all attendees.
